If you give a person a second chance after they hurt you tremendously and they still let you down, knowing that you gave them that chance makes your heart hurt less. When you completely and utterly resolve to forgive someone, whether or not they even ask for it, life suddenly becomes so much more beautiful, and the wrongs that person did to you feel much smaller than they once did. Forgiveness is the hardest thing to wrap your head around, but once you give it to someone, something in your life changes. It’s the sense of acknowledging the power and control you have over your own life and suddenly realizing that no matter what happens, you are going to be secure in who you are and what you believe in. Even if that person refuses to be honest with you after the millionth time you give them the chance, your forgiveness allows them to go along on their own way and all you can do is pray that someday they find peace and truth and the same security that you’ve found. When you truly forgive someone, it isn’t a question of whether or not they deserve it (because they don’t…none of us do), but its the ability to still care about them and wish that they find happiness and fulfillment in life despite everything they did to you in the past, and even continue to do to you. This kind of forgiveness is the best gift you can give someone else, and it will heal all the wounds the person ever gave you…and then some.
about having such a good fit for your first boyfriend is that everyone has a very high standard to live up to.
